At Olemwa Sports Club, we are committed to empowering young minds through chess. Our regular workshops and mentorship programs introduce children to the game, cultivating critical thinking, patience, and discipline. By building these foundational skills, we prepare youth for success both on and off the chessboard, fostering a generation of strategic thinkers and future leaders.

Rooted in a lifelong passion for chess, our team’s journey began in childhood, playing the game as a beloved hobby. This passion grew through school tournaments and university competitions at both national and regional levels, inspiring us to create something lasting—a legacy for the love of chess that transcends the current status quo. We are driven by the vision to elevate the sport, nurturing a stronger, more dynamic chess community for future generations.
ALLAN MBABANI

Allan is a seasoned chess player who represented Busitema University in the Uganda National Chess League and led the Busitema University Chess Club as captain in the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) games, hosted twice at Uganda Christian University and Busoga University. Additionally, Allan captained the team at the East Africa University Sports (EAUS) games held at Jomo Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya, showcasing his leadership and dedication to advancing chess across the region.
IKONDE NEKEMIAH ARNOLD
CLUB CAPTAIN
Arnold, a distinguished chess player and former captain of the Busitema University Chess Club, has built an impressive career in the Uganda National Chess League, playing for several notable clubs. Representing Busitema University, he led his team to podium finishes in both the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) national games and the East Africa University Sports (EAUS) regional games. Now, as the leader of Olemwa Sports Club, Arnold competes as the top board player in the 2024 Premier Bet Uganda National Chess League, showcasing his skill and commitment to advancing chess in Uganda.
